Building a BridgeRelational conflict can cause distress, poor communication, and relationship damage. So, when conflict happens, what can I do to build bridges? 1) Discuss the issue in person or by phone, not by text or email. 2) Address the issue when you are not flooded with emotions. 3) Don't assign negative motives to the other person. Understanding them is as important as being understood. 4) Have a goal of repairing the relationship more than being right. Resolved conflict can build a bridge that makes you even closer. We can all be a little more intentional. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Matthew 5:9
Kindness Goes a Long WayFor some, being kind comes easy; for others, it's a work in progress. How we love, care for, and treat others is a direct result of our relationship with God. In Galatians 5:22-23 The Lord lists the fruit of the Spirit. These behaviors are the result of our walk with God and our relationship. Are you a kind person? Take some time today and ask God where you need to increase your kindness. Ask Him to give you His eyes to see others from His perspective. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
